Bluetooth headset for old phones

Most cell phone manufacturers have announced Bluetooth as a technology to change the role of the mobile phone. However, what to do for those who already have a cell phone that is not compatible with this technology??

Plantronics, an American manufacturer of cell phone accessories, has decided to find a new niche in this market with the launch of the M1500 headset, the first product on the market to use Bluetooth capabilities with older phones.

It looks exactly like a regular Bluetooth headset, but it comes with an external adapter that plugs into the phone’s audio jack. This limits its wireless capabilities to just ten meters, but allows voice dialing and volume control.

Plantronics promises that the headset batteries can withstand up to 3 hours of continuous talk time, 72 hours of standby time, and take no more than an hour to fully charge. The headset can be used while charging.

M1500 may be a good temporary solution before replacing the phone with a new one and may serve as an impetus for lower prices.
