For beer – with GPS module?

Scientists have finally come up with an application of GPS technology that absolutely everyone should like: a clock with a built-in GPS module that finds nearby catering establishments for you: bars, cafes or restaurants.

The watch shows its owner the location of the nearest bar and the distance to it. The University of Bristol beer lovers who designed this watch also added a function to display a short description of each establishment.

The watch, called the HandPC, is a collaboration between university scientists and Hewlett-Packard’s wearable PC division. The HandPC developers are also working on a jacket that could independently arrange tours of Bristol to anyone who wears it.

PS There is an opinion that it would be nice to attach an “autopilot” module to such a jacket. To return home. 🙂
