Toshiba and Matsushita unite LCD capacities

Yesterday, Toshiba and Matsushita Electric Industrial announced a joint venture for LCD monitors. The event is scheduled for April next year; 60% of the shares will be owned by Toshiba and 40% by Matsushita.

The resulting company, which will design and manufacture various LCD and OLED products, will take over all LCD factories owned by both companies, as well as their joint LTPS TFT LCD factory under construction in Singapore.
