Hynix denies rumors

Yesterday, there was an official reaction from representatives of the South Korean Hynix Semiconductor to the reports that appeared in the press about an alleged 20% decrease in production of DRAM chips.

Yes, indeed, the company is considering such a measure to reduce the company’s unprofitableness, but at the moment “it would be unwise for Hynix to reduce production volumes – at a time when the others do not intend to do so.”. It is quite possible, the company said, that additional consultations with other manufacturers of memory products will be held on this issue.

Hynix also stressed that rumors of a 20% cut in production volumes are not true.Source: Korea Herald
