Intel: production cuts, staff cuts…
Intel has decided to phase out production of its universal switches and routers, which will entail the layoff of some workers, as well as the closure of some production facilities. More specifically: workers involved in the design and manufacture of switches and routers at factories located in Copenhagen, San Diego and Bedford, Massachusetts will be fired.

The decision is part of a reorganization plan that reoriented the company to manufacture chips. In general, as we already wrote, up to 5,000 people will be laid off, although now this no longer applies to workers employed in Canadian enterprises. Intel currently employs 87,000 people.

In line with its previously announced downsizing policy, Intel is not laying off workers; the decrease in the number of employed occurs through natural outflow.
