Bug in VIA KT133A, north bridge: continuation
Today there was a continuation of yesterday’s story about the discovered bug in KT133A, this time concerning the north bridge, VIA VT8363A.
VIA spokesman John Gatt commented on the situation:
“The so-called bug is definitely not a problem with the KT133A chipset or any other VIA chipset. Now, after many websites began to teach how to play with registers in the BIOS, reports of problems began to appear. If you are experiencing real difficulties such as those described, and did not play with register settings or BIOS settings, be sure to contact us, and we can help you and determine the real reason for spontaneous reboots or inability to boot “.
So, this time VIA spoke in the sense that it had nothing to do with the problem. In the meantime, MSI still continues to exchange its K7T Turbo motherboards with “problem” steppings for motherboards with the new “2EA1” stepping in Germany for free. At the time of this news release, VIA has not yet responded to this fact.
