NEC cuts production in the US
It became known that NEC has reduced the volume of production of its factory in Roseville by 2/3. This was the result of the departure of a Japanese company from the DRAM business.
The NEC factory in Roseville was rightfully considered one of the largest in the United States – it used to produce up to 39 thousand. 200mm plates per month. Now the volume of production should be reduced to 14 thousand., who will be busy mostly with logic.
Once this particular factory was supposed to be the first 300 mm production of NEC, but then the project was canceled. Now NEC is going to sell surplus equipment.
The company’s plans now include the addition of new manufacturing facilities in Japan that produce chips for next-generation networks.
