Let’s try to summarize the information about Intel’s plans for the release of desktop processors for the next year.
- Mass shipments of 1.13 GHz and 1.2 GHz Pentium III processors, 1.2 GHz 0.13 μm Tualatin 256 KB L2 cache, FSB 133 MHz, already hitting Japanese stores, are expected next month
- 1.9GHz and 2GHz Pentium 4 Processors with 256KB L2 Cache, 0.18μm Coming in Q3
- 2.0 GHz and 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 (Northwood), 0.13 micron models expected by November
- Q4 – appearance of 950 MHz Celeron model on Coppermine core, FSB 100 MHz, 0.18 micron
- In the first quarter of 2021, a 1 GHz Celeron processor is expected, while on the Coppermine core, FSB 100 MHz, 0.18 microns
- In the second quarter – 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 (Northwood), 0.13 microns, as well as the first 1 GHz (and higher?) Celeron on Tualatin core, FSB 100 MHz, 0.13 micron
As you can see, the latest Pentium III will be released next month, after which it will gradually be replaced by Pentium 4 models.
