Creative celebrates its 20th anniversary

Just think, it would seem, quite recently, on July 1, 1981, Creative was founded in Singapore, then it had only two employees, and the start-up capital was only $ 6,000! Now, Creative Technology, the global leader in digital entertainment products for personal computers and the Internet, celebrates its 20th anniversary. For numerous users of Creative products around the world and everyone who is interested in modern technologies, the name of this popular company is associated primarily with new approaches to using a personal computer.

The founder of the company, Sim Wong Hoo, dreamed of creating a computer that could speak, sing and play music. The young company quickly began offering electronic services and started the production of expansion cards for computers – it is noteworthy that the development cycle for new Creative products was only one month! The start-up firm’s first products included a high-speed cassette storage device, shortly thereafter, Creative entered the PC market where it began offering multilingual multimedia hardware and software for Chinese and English speaking users. Since then, the company has come a long way, and since the creation of the Sound Blaster audio card in 1989, its name has become synonymous with computer sound. Today Creative offers its solutions to individuals and system builders in 80 countries around the world, using various distribution channels: retail, distribution, OEM-manufacturers and the Internet.
