Fujitsu will sell factory to AMD?
Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun published an interesting message today: according to its information, Fujitsu Japan intends to sell its last “overseas” factory, located in Oregon, USA, to its partner AMD, with which they own this factory on a share.
No comment has been received from Fujitsu at this time, however, as Nihon Keizai noted, Fujitsu will simply be forced to close the factory at the end of the month as demand for its flash memory remains low.
By the way, a little earlier, Fujitsu has already announced that it will be forced to temporarily stop the release of flash memory at its facilities in Japan, tentatively, in August – September.
I wonder under what conditions AMD intends (if it intends at all) to acquire a stake in Fujitsu? Indeed, judging by the last quarterly report, the main losses of the company in the past quarter are precisely due to poor sales of flash memory… It seems that if the sale of the factory takes place, then we will find out about it literally the other day.
