“It’s about magic bubbles”, or about 3D sound for mobile phones
Sensaura engineers announced they have developed 3D sound positioning technology, which may be used in the manufacture of new mobile phones.
Initially, the technology was developed to improve the quality of recording classical music, but its advanced version for digital noise cancellation in mobile phones is being seriously considered. The essence of the technology is to create a so-called “bubble of silence” around the listener’s ear, in which the subscriber’s voice seems to be “virtualized”, that is, his “volumetric” model is created.
It sounds great, of course, but nevertheless, real 3D positioning is out of the question. For a simple reason: 3D requires at least two signal sources. It seems that there is really something in the new technology, but the prefix “3D” in the name, most likely, is a common advertising trick of PR specialists. Source: Electronic Times
