Powerchip: 256 Mbit chips – 0.15 micron standards

Powerchip Semiconductor intends to use 0.15 micron process technology to produce 256 Mbit DDR memory chips in its 8-inch silicon wafer factory starting March 2021. With a new process technology, the company hopes to reduce manufacturing costs and improve profit margins. According to the statement of the president of the company, a similar technical process is planned to be used in the production of 128 Mbit chips.

The company also plans to begin using the 0.13μm CMOS process to produce 256MB of memory chips in a 12 ” wafer factory later this year.
