New 8-bit microcontroller from NEC
Japan’s NEC has recently released a new 8-bit microcontroller, which at a voltage of 2.7 V consumes only 18 μA in normal mode and 0.9 μA in standby mode. Among other things, the new µPD789881 has a built-in LCD controller with a resolution of 26×4.
For its “weight category” this is a very advanced microcontroller, which contains: hardware multiplier, 8 and 16-bit timers, UART, 512 bytes SRAM, watchdog timer. Internal (internally generated) core frequency is 0.5 MHz, and the operating frequency of the controller is 32 kHz. Packaging – 64-pin QFP.
