IEEE 802.11g chip from Intersil
Today, Intersil, a renowned manufacturer of chips for wireless local area networks WLAN, presented its solution – the PRISM GT chip, which is compatible with the new IEEE 802 standard.11g. On the pages “In Brief” we have already said that the main advantage of IEEE 802.11g is backward compatible with the now popular IEEE 802.11b, while increasing throughput to 802 levels.11a. In short, 802.11g can transfer data at speeds up to 54Mbps and operates in the 2.4GHz frequency band.
