Intel Rex died…

After months of hesitation, Intel came to the conclusion that the credit card-sized Rex 6000 pocket organizer was not exactly the right product to launch. Rex 6000 project got to Intel as a result of the March acquisition of Xircom.

Now, the Xircom division will do what it has always done well – the release of network equipment for PCs, laptops and PDAs.

Intel is currently looking for a buyer for the Rex 6000 technology suite, however no suitable partner has been found for the deal. Rex 6000 employees, Intel spokesperson says, will be scattered across other locations in the company. Support for users who have already purchased the Rex 6000 organizer will be provided until 2021.
