Feb 03,  · The Eclipse Kepler throwing an error indicate that “Invalid overload of endl”. If I do this. Code: [ Select all] [ Show/ hide] cout endl; this will working fine. Alternately, by turning off the Invalid Overload’s severity in Code Analysis will solved the problem. Before I do this, is there any concern why this feature is on by default? Nov 10,  · Now, I’ve looked up std::endl and in ostream.h it appears to be defined by a series of templates, classes, inlines and defines that don’t mean a lot to me other than it places a \n and then flushes. So really, I’m dealing with something that doesn’t fit into a template class. Jan 05,  · As you can see the endl is being picked up by the parser as an error. However everything compiles and executes without issues. I’ve tried the following: Window->Preferences->Indexer. Increase Cache Limits to MB. “Use active build configuration” Rebuilding Index: Uncheck “Enable Indexer”. Click Apply. Check “Enable Indexer”. Click OK.

Handling std::endl in an overloaded “<<" - C++ Forum "311-patent" - at the heart of Via's lawsuit against Intel

The attack by VIA Technologies, which has filed a lawsuit against Intel and accuses the latter of infringing VIA’s patent rights with the Pentium 4 processor, turns out to have very real grounds.

VIA’s claim is based on US Patent 6,253,311 – “Instruction Set for Bi-Directional Conversion and Transfer of Integer and Floating Point Data”. In other words, the patent on a set of instructions for transcoding into various data formats, which VIA received at its disposal on June 26.

Based on the ownership of this, as journalists have already dubbed it, “311” patent, VIA insists on payment of compensation for its violation, as well as the recovery of all legal costs from the opposite party.

The history of this patent should also be recalled. 6,253,311 was filed by Glenn Henry and Timothy A. Elliott) June 26, 1997, and retrieved November 29, 1997. Previously, Henry served as CEO of Centaur and currently leads the C3 processor development team at VIA.

Intel officials have already announced that they have accepted VIA’s challenge, and the company intends to achieve its goal in a lawsuit on violation of five Intel patents by VIA P4X266 and P4M266 chipsets, and to defend its rights in a suit by VIA.
