Toshiba licensed ARM core from Jazelle
Toshiba recently licensed its ARM926EJ-S core from ARM for its mobile devices. The core feature of this core is the vaunted ARM Jazelle technology, which speeds up the execution of Java applications on the processor 8 times compared to the fully software Java Vitrual Machine. Toshiba plans to use the new core in its SOC designs for use in mobile devices.
The 926EJ-S core is very flexible: fully synthesizable (which means it can be done using various technical processes), you can choose the size of the instruction and data cache, there are also AMBA AHB and ETM on-chip interface buses for building complex systems-in-a-chip.
