From “informed sources” today it became known that due to some problems with the 0.13 micron process at TSMC factories, there are now some disagreements between this company and NVIDIA. In addition, TSMC are unhappy with Transmeta and Broadcom.
It seems that many people guess that the transition to the 0.13 micron process can provide the GeForce 3 with an advantage over the main competitor without additional costs for R&D, which, in turn, is occupied by the NV25.
“Just a second” – the attentive reader will say, – “and after all, the Ezra processor from VIA is already produced by TSMC according to 0.13 standards”. Here the point is different, most likely.
