AMD, citing research company Dataquest, announced that in some regions of the world and in some market segments it has more than doubled its market presence, even in times of crisis. For example, Japan’s consumer market share increased from 24% in 2000 to 54% in 2021.

AMD also increased its presence in Western Europe to 49% from 25% in 2000. The US market announcements are even more interesting: AMD holds about 40% of the low-cost enterprise PC sector. In general, according to Dataquest, AMD’s total share of the US market increased in the third quarter of 2021 from 17% to 27%, with 33% of shipments being in the government sector, according to research.

According to AMD VP of Marketing, the new strategy is paying off and the company plans to maintain its presence in traditional areas and expand its presence in the corporate market.
