Trident Blade XP and Blade T64 – on the horizon

Trident announced that cards based on its Blade XP and Blade T64 graphics chips will start shipping to retail in the very near future, as the company itself has already begun mass shipments of these chips to motherboard manufacturers.

Earlier we wrote that the cards on the Blade XP chip will be produced by the Hong Kong companies Innovision and Hightech. Now there are reports that US-based Jaton will join them, as well as some as-yet-unannounced companies from South Korea and Taiwan.

Representatives of Trident noted that the company does not intend to achieve a solid share in the global video chip market, Trident will be happy with its 3% – 5%. Trident’s marketing policy is to sell its chips at prices that are known to be lower than the approximate counterparts from NVIDIA. Presumably, the final prices for finished boards will also be slightly lower.
