SiS wins

As it turns out, SiS was liked not only by the majority of Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers, but also by large OEM customers. Yesterday it became known that Hewlett-Packard has signed a contract with a Taiwanese company and will use its Pentium 4 chipsets in its desktop PCs. The first deliveries of SiS 645 (probably already about A2 stepping) will begin this quarter.

In addition, SiS entered into a deal with Toshiba to license some of the Japanese company’s developments in systems logic.

SiS is doing too well right now. In December, the company managed to sell over a million chipsets. And with a new order from HP, plans to ship 3 million a month by the end of this quarter.

This is really a shock, as we say, the plan. Let’s see if the company can fulfill it.
