Roadmap of North DDR bridges from VIA

Unfortunately, information about the last week’s Platform Conference continues to arrive in scanty amounts. But a lot was said at this conference for the first time! It seems that during the week it will be necessary to supplement the above, as information becomes available. And now – information about the northern DDR bridges of VIA Apollo chipsets.

Pay attention to the VIA P4SMA chipset, which is the same P4X266 for Pentium 4, but with an integrated Savage4 graphics core (as opposed to P4M266, which has an integrated Savage2000 core). All three P4X266, P4M266 and P4SMA chipsets are fully electrically compatible, allowing developers to greatly simplify motherboard layouts.

Accordingly, chipsets supporting 333 MHz DDR SDRAM (PC2700) and AGP 8x – both for Intel and AMD processors, which will be released in 2021, are still called DDR333 and DDR333 SMA (with integrated graphics).
