About integrated chipsets for Pentium 4
Intel spokesman George Alfs plans to release the first integrated P4 chipset next year, according to Intel spokesman George Alfs. Elfs refused to give a more precise date and details of the chipset specification.
It is logical to assume that Intel, not wanting to give up such a profitable market, is developing something of its own without much fanfare, although, to present something serious, at the level of NVIDIA’s nForce chipset for Athlon processors, Intel itself is unlikely to be able to handle it.
Whether the statement by an Intel representative was about independent development, or, nevertheless, it will be the result of joint work with ATi – it’s hard to say yet. However, ATI itself has a license to create chipsets for Pentium 4, and who knows if it will master a stand-alone product of this class by the beginning of next year?
